LEGO recall actions

Good news: no products have been recalled since 2009!

We do our very best to ensure that children can play safely and enjoy our products – in fact, that is the main motivation of the LEGO Group. That is why we strive not to have to recall any products. As you can see below, we have achieved that goal every year since 2009. We no longer sell the recalled 2009 remote control, nor do we sell the 2002 truck - but the recall is still valid. If you have such a remote control or truck, please do not play with it from now on and check the links below to see if the toy is part of the recall.

2002: 3509 LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck

More information about how we make LEGO® toys as safe as possible can be found on our website Product Safety page .

2009: Power Functions IR Speed Remote

We have decided to recall the Power Functions IR Speed Remote Control after 4 reports that the remote control became hot after installing the batteries. No injuries were reported.

Between April 8 and May 6, 2009, we sold 997 units of this remote control - either separately (item 8879) or as part of the Emerald Night Train (10194) and Power Functions (8882) sets. These remote controls were only available for purchase directly from the LEGO Shop (online or via the catalogue). They were not sold in stores or retail stores.

Is my remote control part of the recall?

If your remote is out of order, it will get hot within 5 or 10 minutes of first turning it on.

What should I do if my remote control is part of the recall?

2002: LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck Recall

We decided to recall the LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck 3509 because the wheels can detach from the axles and pose a danger to children.

The LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck was made in 2002 and 2003. The 40 LEGO DUPLO bricks packed in the truck's cab are not part of the recall. They are completely safe for children aged 18 months and older.

Is my Super Truck part of the recall?

If your Super Truck looks like the picture, it is part of the recall.

What should I do if my Truck is part of the recall?

From now on, don't play with the truck anymore. Download the recall form, print it and follow the instructions - we'll send you a $15 gift card to spend in the online LEGO Shop and in our official LEGO Stores. Recycle the Super Truck once you have submitted the form.
